Jacqueline Fernandez hails from Manama in Bahrain. Her family was raised in an ethnically diverse family. Her father, Elroy Fernandez is a from Sri Lanka. Her brothers are elder, and two younger ones. Due to unrest in the country, her parents moved to Bahrain during the 1980s. Schooling was finished within Bahrain and she was awarded an Scholarship to at the University of Sydney. There she earned a Media and Communications degree. In order to further her passion for the world of languages, cultures and languages, she joined the Berlitz schools of languages where she was able to master Spanish and also improve her French as well as Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 was title in the month of March, 2006; she was also a part of Miss Universe 2006 After her victory in 2006, Miss Sri Lanka win, Padukone stepped into the world of television and hosted a show about Sri Lankan business called Lanka Business Report. Padukone had the honor of being a daughter and badminton world champion Prakash Padukone. Padukone grew as a child in Bangalore and came from Copenhagen. When she was a teenager she participated in national badminton competitions, but quit the sport and became a fashion designer. Padukone is of Mangalorean roots and speaks Konkani as her native language. Her family tree is rooted in Padukone village in Kundapura Taluk in the Udupi District of the state of Karnataka, India. Prakash Padukone was a badminton legend, who retired in the 1980s. Her mother, who worked for a travel agent, is also from this village.
